FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: What does a Trial Session mean at Hit the Books?
A: Take advantage of a promotional rate (up to 45% discount) without any commitment to a study package. Make a decision about your registration after your 1st session, when you are completely satisfied.
Q: What course material should I send?
A: Any material or topics that you may need to work on in your sessions, such as your course outline, lecture slides, assignment instructions, and past exams. Please email them to us as an attachment, and describe your needs in the body of the email. The more information you provide on the subject matter, the more efficient your 1st session will be!
Q: How soon can I have my first session?
A: As soon as we receive your updated availability and your course material, we will try our best to send the tentative booking within 24 hours. However, if the course is less common or if there is a large volume of student requests, we may take a few days to arrange your first session. Please let us know about any upcoming deadlines you may have, so that we can plan accordingly.
Q: Why do I need to pay in advance?
A: Once we receive your payment, we can confirm your tutoring session in advance and ensure that no other students are booked with your tutor at that time. We need to confirm sessions with our tutors minimum 24 hours prior to the sessions on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends.
Q: Why should I book all the sessions of a registration at once?
A: This is very important because it means your sessions will be reserved in advance! Near the end of the semester, our tutors often get booked quickly with final exam requests. Arranging all your sessions will ensure that you have the help when you need it, giving you priority over last-minute students.
Q: How should I list my availability?
A: You can list your availability in the following format:
Valid from January to April
Tuesday: 9 AM - 9 PM
Wednesday: 9 AM - 9 PM
Friday: 9 AM - 9 PM
Saturday: All Day
Sunday: After 2 PM
